...and the winner is...
We were delighted to be declared Irish Dentistry's Practice of the Year Dublin 2015 - this happened at the Mansion House Dublin on January 30th and it was one of the last awards announced on the night. Earlier, we'd been highly commended as Irish Dentistry's Best Employer but nothing had prepared us for the announcement that we'd won this massive award.
Swords Orthodontics were at the event and as usual all dressed up for the evening with all the gang looking super glamorous like a James Bond movie. One of the other people at our table said he wished he could have videoed our faces when they called our name out - such was the surprise and delight.
So we went up and collected our Irish Dentistry Award and it now sits on the reception desk at work. We also received a bottle of Champagne from the sponsors Denplan, which still hasn't been drunk as we are saving it for a special occasion when all the team are back at work...preferably to be enjoyed with a few samosas at our favourite Indian restaurant!
I think one of the reasons that this is special to us is that in order to win, we had to do better than many large practices in the biggest city in the country- many of which do every kind of dentistry including orthodontics, and some of which even have older, more experienced orthodontists than Dr Murray.
We have been finalists in the awards every year we have entered, and it's always a great event to go to in the Irish Dental Calendar. This year round, the celebrations went on a bit longer than usual and I think I got to bed at 04.30 and had to get up again soon after for a dental conference organised by the Irish Dental Association (IDA) in Croke Park the same morning.
All's well that ends well!
