Fashion and beauty blogger Deborah from Love By Debs is starting her Invisalign treatment at Swords Orthodontics and is going to keep us updated with her progress and her experience of the Invisalign appliances.

Although she's renowned for being glamorous, there's a few small details about her teeth that do annoy her, and she'd like to improve on them. She's worn regular braces before and now would prefer a clear braces option.

In this video, Debs explains what she didn't like about her teeth, how much it bothered her and why she preferred Invisalign over other options for fixing the problems with her smile. Later in the video, she gives her first impressions with the aligners immediately after having her first aligners fitted.

You don't have to be a teenager to benefit from orthodontic treatment, and you don't have to be a model or a beauty industry insider to appreciate the benefits of orthodontic treatment with Invisalign. Many of our patients are doing very conventional jobs and enjoy the fact that most people don't notice they are improving their smile - and it's not just for the ladies, many of our patients are men. I guess guys want to do something about how their teeth look, but they don't want too many people knowing that they want to do something about it!

If you are interested in seeing how we can help you with Invisalign, or any other form of orthodontics, call us today on 01 810 7622. We don't charge for our initial consultation with you, so you can find out what's involved at no cost to yourself.

And for October 2014, we have a special offer on Invisalign of €500 off our regular fee.

Why retainers are important

When I opened up his notes, it turned out that his orthodontic treatment finished over 3 years ago and we hadn’t seen him in almost 3 years. At that stage we had made him a spare retainer and he never came back to us to have it fitted.

When he came in, I said “so we haven’t seen you in nearly 3 years.”

“Yeah, I know. Sorry about that. Really busy with the leaving cert and that sort of thing,” he said. He explained that his retainer was ...

Orthodontics and Mouth Cancer 2025 Part 3...What happened next

After a busy day of orthodontic treatments, I was in the practice one evening doing some treatment planning for the patients that would be coming in later that week and the phone rang with Prof Stassen’s name on the screen.

As he does the jaw surgery and other special procedures for my patients that need them, I’d always take the call when I get it because it usually means something needs to be discussed in detail and I’ll have to make special appointments and the quicker I know what I have to do the quicker I can help my patients. In this case it was “remember ...
