Christmas cards at Swords Orthodontics
Swords Orthodontics wishes all our patients and colleagues and their families and friends a Happy Christmas.

On behalf of my team at Swords Orthodontics, and my colleagues, and myself, I sincerely wish a happy Christmas, and every happiness in the New Year, and many smiles ahead, to all our patients, past, present and future, and to their families and friends. Also to all the people we work with, other dentists, our suppliers and service providers.

All the best,

Stephen Murray

Probably not Ireland's Favourite Christmas Songs, just mine

After revealing the results of Ireland's Favourite Christmas Song using the statistically unreliable sample of Swords Orthodontics patients and parents, I thought I'd follow up with my own Christmas favourites. It may be the least viewed blog post on the Swords Ortho website this year, but quite a few people did ask me for my choice, so I thought I'd list them.

a Christmas selection
And these are a few of my favourite things....
a selection of my favourite Christmas records.

No Fairytales....

  1. Christmas Wrapping (The Waitresses)

  4. I Believe in Father Christmas (Greg Lake)
  5. Gaudete ...

If it is a choice between a couple of weeks after Christmas and a couple of weeks before Christmas, most of our patients choose "before", so there's all sorts of efforts made to get those brackets off before the big day.

The rest of what follows is what we tell our own patients. At Swords Orthodontics, for most removable retainers, I advise full time wear for the first 3 days and then it’s night time wear after that.

For Ever.

Really.

If you still want straight teeth in 10 years’ time, you’re still wearing a retainer in 10 years’ time.

2

DON’T have your retainer anywhere other than one of these two places:

  1. Your Mouth
  2. Your Retainer Box

Anywhere else and it’s likely to get lost, broken, damaged, stolen, eaten ...

What is Invisalign i7?

Invisalign clear braces compared to other braces

Most people have heard of Invisalign as a brand name for a particular kind of clear braces treatment, and if you need Invsalign in Dublin, Swords Orthodontics has been providing this kind of treatment for almost a decade now.

That said, since then, Invisalign has evolved a fair bit. For a start, the actual system is a lot more predictable and effective at moving teeth. The other way it’s changed is that there are now many different types of Invisalign treatment options.

People think that Invisalign is only for small orthodontic problems, but that’s not always the case. Invisalign can treat some fairly complicated situations and when we need to do that, ...
