HSE Orthodontic Waiting Lists Up To 5 Years

I rarely post things that are political in the blog, but I do occasionally discuss matters relating to dental politics and HSE Orthodontic Waiting lists. I see on the website Kildarestreet.com (where this is taken from, I freely acknowledge and would advise anyone wanting to track the treatment of various topics in the Dáil to look there) that there was this exchange recently on HSE waiting lists.

HSE investigate orthodontic treatment damaging children's teeth

They say a week is a long time in politics – I’m sure if you’re Theresa May or Leo Varadkar trying to sort out Brexit, it’s a very, very long time. In a way, I’m lucky that I get to work in the more mundane environment of orthodontics that the public is usually a lot happier about. HSE Waiting List Update December 2018

From time to time I talk about Orthodontics waiting lists in the HSE. This was just put online at the very useful website kildarestreet.com, which reports questions and answers from Dáil Éireann. Recently the TD Charlie McConalogue asked about the orthodontic waiting list in Letterkenny Hospital in Donegal.

The current Minister for Health, Simon Harris, gave an answer which is very difficult to understand. I have cut and pasted directly from the website so that I don't misquote it, though to be honest, I don't know if I could make it any less easy to comprehend.
