Team Swords Ortho at Kilkenny for IDA conference

Team Swords Orthodontics at the 2014 Irish Dental Association annual conference in Kilkenny

In late May, the clinical team at Swords Orthodontics (that’s Brenda, Michelle and Courtney) headed to Kilkenny’s Lyrath Estate for the Irish Dental Association’s 2014 National Conference. There were updates on all sorts of things to do with dentistry, but particularly from an Irish perspective – this is important for keeping up with changes in the laws and regulations governing dentistry. There were also special talks from the UK’s foremost forensic dentist (who has the gruesome job of identifying bodies from their dental records) and ...

Courtlough Adventure Team Building

Swords Orthodontics organised an inter-practice team building event with members from 4 practices taking part. There was a bit of archery and a lot of gravity-defying as we negotiated the high wire adventure course, with challenges of balance and nerve as we zip wired and jumped into the unknown.

Our new technician Bogdan joins Swords Orthodontics!

Also in the middle of the year, our long serving orthodontic technician Brian left to set up his own business so the hunt was on to find a suitable person to run our on-site ortho laboratory. Swords Orthodontics at Run A Muck Challenge

Well the new year is well under way, but in the grand tradition of all those TV shows you get around Christmas and January, I felt we could hardly begin the year’s blogging without winding up the year that has passed.

Fortunately we don’t have a video montage of team members that have died during the year, but there have been many remarkable events in the Swords Ortho calendar. It would be a shame if we just ploughed on with day to day work and we didn’t reflect on them, if we didn’t think about how they ...
